Junior club rules

Four Oaks Saints Cricket Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect encouraged to be open at all times and to share any ideas, concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with Neil Beattie or a member of the general committee.

As a member of FOUR OAKS SAINTS CRICKET CLUB you are expected to abide by the following junior club rules:

· All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.

· All members must respect opponents.

· Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late. Latecomers may miss out on some activities.

· Members must wear suitable kit –for training and match sessions. ( Minimum requirement- cricket whites, trainers or boots, athletic support, cricket protector)

· Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.

· Junior members are not allowed to smoke on club premises or whilst representing the club at competitions.

· Junior members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.

· Junior members should treat all club equipment and facilities with respect

Code of conduct for club officials and volunteers

The essence of good ethical conduct and practice is summarised below. All volunteers must:

· Consider the well-being and safety of participants before the development of performance.

· Coaches must respect and champion the rights of every individual to participate in sport.

· Develop an appropriate working relationship with performers, based on openness, honesty, mutual trust and respect.

· Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.

· Promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play).

· Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance.

· Follow all guidelines laid down by the national governing body and the club.

· Hold the appropriate, valid qualifications and insurance cover.

· Never exert undue influence over performers to obtain personal benefit or reward.

· Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibitive substances.

Code of Conduct for parents/carers and spectators

The following code has being developed with the ECB and the Junior committee. We are a family club and want to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all our Junior members.

· Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them. Encourage your child to practice at home.

· Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials.

· Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.

· Never force your child to take part in sport.

· Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding the good performances of all.

· Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.

· Publicly accept officials’ judgements.

· Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.

· Use correct and proper language at all times.

· Ensure your child arrives on time for each training session and match ( please note latecomers may miss out)

· Ensure your child is wearing appropriate attire ( Minimum requirement – cricket whites, trainers or boots, athletic support, cricket protector)

· Please do not interrupt a coach during a training session or match unless it cannot wait until afterwards

· Please keep children that are not participating away from playing surface during coaching sessions or matches

Parents who do not intend staying for matches or training must leave a contact telephone number and ensure that they pick up their child once the sessions finish
